Gabriela GrosseckGabriela Grosseck is Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the West University of Timisoara, Romania.

She has particular expertise in ICT in education (teaching, learning and researching), a solid experience in students’/teachers’ training both f2f and online environments.

For almost a decade she was an editor-in-chief of Romanian Journal of Social Informatics. An author of many articles in the field of e-learning 2.0, a speaker at different international events, workshop organizer and member of editorial committees (journals and conferences), her research interests cover main aspects of Web 2.0 tools and technologies in higher education, collaborative aspects and proper use of social media (by teachers, students, researchers, policy makers and other educational actors).

Ramona Palos

Ramona PalosRamona Paloș is an associate professor at West University of Timișoara, Romania, who received her Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from ”Al. I. Cuza” University – Iași, and teaches Educational Psychology, Learning Psychology and Psychological Abilities at West University of Timișoara, Department of Psychology.

Her research interests focus on how to design learning experiences for stimulating successful intelligence of the students, and how to identify the teaching style/learning style from the perspective of the successful intelligence. She works with her colleague Laurențiu Maricuțoiu to develop two kinds of questionnaires to identify the teaching/learning style from the perspective of successful intelligence.

Teaching Activity is linked to educational and learning psychology.

Research Topics: Successful intelligence, learning and motivational strategies, academic achievement.

Research Summary: Relationships between teaching activities, successful intelligence and academic achievement – how to design learning experiences to stimulate successful intelligence of the students in order to obtain great achievements. Laurentiu Maricutoiu

Laurentiu MaricutoiuLaurentiu P. Maricutoiu is assistant professor, received his Ph.D. in Work and Organizational Psychology from Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca.

In his research activity, he is interested in enhancing the predictive validity of self-report measures, in how psychological measurement techniques can be improved, and how these improvements can be stable and robust.

Together with Coralia Sulea, in 2011 he received the Horia Pitariu award for the best Romanian research paper in the field of Work and Organizational Psychology.

Teaching Activity addresses the problems of prediction in individual and work-related settings.

Irina Macsinga

Irina MacsingaIrina Macsinga is an Associate Professor at West University of Timisoara. She received her Ph.D. from Babes-Bolyai University, in 2005, in Philosophy. The Ph.D. thesis addresses an interdisciplinary topic, with influences from cognitive psychology and neurosciences, named the analysis of errors in deductive reasoning.

Her main research interests focus on personality and implicit methods in personality assessment, social cognition and the applications of cognitive psychology in educational field.

She is a member of the Romanian Psychologists’ Association, member of the editorial staff of the Romanian Journal of Applied Psychology, founding member of the CEPA Timisoara, member of the Board of Faculty of Sociology and Psychology from UVT and head of the Committee 2 in West University Senate. She coordinated the Psychology Students’ Research Group that participated in numerous international conferences where students received various awards (second prize at the International Conference on Psychology, Sibiu, 2012).

Teaching activity. Most of her teaching activity is linked to personality theoretical models, research methods in personality assessment, and cognitive approach to mental processes and decision making.

Iuliana Costea

Iuliana CosteaShe is an assistant professor at the West University of Timisoara and a PhD candidate in Psychology, at University of Bucharest, under the coordination of Professor dr. Iolanda Mitrofan.

Even from graduation from bachelor’s level, in 2007, she worked as an extern collaborator in the Psychology Department from West Psychology of Timisoara. Since 2009 she became a titular for: Psychology of Creativity, Transpersonal Psychology and Psychological Practice.

She graduated a master degree in Couple and Family Counseling, and  frequented stages of training in Experiential Psychotherapy, Transpersonal Psychology and Transactional Analysis. Also, she has a Train of Trainers certificate (TOT) and a Manager in Human Resources certificate (issued by CNFPA)..

During the last 5 years she coordinated teams of students in international Intensive Programs or in Youth in Actions Projects.

Currently, she is the president of a NGO, which was born in 2008, being named “PsihoTransfer”. This association has as aim to promote self development among people and to organize trainings and workshops, mainly in the field of psychology. She organized and coordinated over 5 groups and workshops in self-development, also in collaboration with the Center of Psychological Counseling and Career Orientation (CCPOC) and with the Association “PsihoTransfer”.

She was  involved in the organization of 5 International Psychology Conferences, mainly in the field of Transpersonal Psychology. Also, she participated in over 20 international conferences in the field of: Transpersonal Psychology, Educational Psychology, Health Psychology and Counseling and over 10 national conferences in the field of: Experiential Psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis, Humanist Psychology and others.

Since 2007, she is the secretary and also a founder member of The European Transpersonal Psychology Association (ETPA) and also member in other professional organizations (Romanian Psychologist Association (APR); European Health Psychology Association (EHPS); the Danube Adria Association for Automation and Manufacturing (DAAAM). She is a member of the Romanian College of Psychologists, with autonomy to practice and certificate in Educational Psychology.

Teaching Activity. License level: Developmental Psychology, The foundations of Psychoanalysis, Psychology of Creativity, Transpersonal Psychology. She is coordinating bachelor’s Degree projects, under the supervision of Professor Anca Munteanu, PhD.

Research Topics: Main research preoccupations lean towards the spirituality and creative process dynamics, transpersonal psychology, extended conscience forms, career counseling and education. She participated in publishing a number of 6 books in collaboration, with both chapters and coordination, and  published also more than 40 studies and articles in specialty reviews and journals.

Florin Alin Sava

Florin Alin SavaMr. Florin Alin Sava, received his Ph.D. in psychology from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca in 2005, and his bachelor degree from West University of Timisoara in 1998 (top of the class). Most of his teaching experience is related with West University of Timisoara, but he also taught at Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Department from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, as a visiting academic. He is the owner of Psihoproiect SRL, a research-oriented company, which is specialized in test development and field surveys. His research interests focus on implicit assessment and intervention techniques, introducing the Semantic Misattribution Procedure (SMP) in the area of personality self-concept. He also examines the efficacy of various types of evaluative conditioning (EC) for a range of behaviors related to health (smoking cessation, healthy diet) and career development (strengthening a positive attitude towards the job search behaviors).

He is the recipient of the Early Career Award for Best Researcher within West University of Timisoara (2009), of the second prize on a National Competition – The Education Award Gala -, Professor of the Year category (2009), and of the honorific title – Alumni Summa Cum Laude from Babes-Bolyai University for his postdoctoral training within Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Department.

Research Summary: (1) The Semantic Misattribution Procedure (SMP), as an implicit measure of personality self-concept: how good is this measure to predict behaviors? What implicit processes are involved in the SMP?; (2) Can evaluative conditioning alter implicit cognitions / attitudes and its corresponding behaviors? Do EC procedures have long-lasting effects?; (3) Moderators and mediators involved in the dynamic between propositional (deliberative) and associative (impulsive) processes. When is feeling stronger than thinking?

Anca Munteanu

Anca MunteanuShe is a professor at the West University of Timisoara, Romania, Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Department of Psychology, who received the PhD in Psychology at “Al. I. CuzaUniversity”, 1981.

Even from graduation from bachelor’s level, she combined teaching activity with research activity, no matter in which institution she was working: the Institute of the Pedagogical Sciences (Iasi), “Al. I. Cuza” University (Iasi), “Politehnica” University (Timisoara) or West University (Timisoara).

She activated as invited professor at “Tibiscus” University (Timisoara) and at “Petre Andrei” University (Iasi). Also, she frequented stages of training in Experiential Psychotherapy (Romania) and Transpersonal Psychology (France). Between 1995 and 2004, she coordinated the Scientific Research Activity as Chancellor, at the “Politehnica” University, “Tibiscus” University and the WestUniversity from Timisoara.

She was a member of the Senate of the West University from Timisoara (2000-2012), and between 2004 and 2012 a Dean of the Sociology and Psychology Faculty at the West University.

She organized eleven National Psychology Congress and three at European Level. She also founded and mentored the Atlantis Creativity Group, made for students (1995-2004). Since 1996, she is organizing the Conferences Cycle “Insomnias of knowledge”, where more than 30 conferences where given by prominent science personalities.

Since 2004, she is the president of The European Association of Transpersonal Psychology and of the founders of the Romanian Association of Transpersonal Psychology (2000). Actually she is a member of the Romanian Psychology Council Board, the Romanian Psychology Association Board, The International Association “Stefan Lupascu” Council, The European Health Psychology Association, and the Danube Adria Association for Automation and Manufacturing.
